An Ipad Stand is an important accessory for many reasons, however three of the most important reasons are:
- Reducing hand strain when holding your iPad.
- Reducing Shoulder Strain from slouching by allowing you to position your iPad in a more ergonomically suitable position.
- Reducing Eye Strain by adjusting the iPad for optimum reading and reducing screen glare by tilting or swivelling.
Here are some of our best iPad Stands
Griffin iPad Stand – Technology Loop
Griffin Technology Loop is one of the simplest and least expensive iPad stands we’ve tested. It is a well weighted, plastic, oval shape with perfectly formed grooves that are wide enough to allow you to have your iPad in most types of cases, however, the thicker the case the more upright the iPad will sit. It also has rubber feet which helps keep the stand from sliding around on your chosen work surface.
To use the Loop as an upright stand, you pop your iPad—in either horizontal or vertical position—in the grooves, which allows the iPad to lean back at around 15 to 20. This is a comfortable angle for watching a movie or indeed to use a keyboard. The Loop ipad stand was always reasonably stable in this position. However if you press or tap your iPad near the top edge or the top corners, this can cause the iPad to wobble a bit. If you press hard or apply to much pressure on the top when the ipad is in the vertical position, it can fall over, this however is not really a problem as Loop is well weighted and tends to hold your iPad effectively enough. (The Loop’s grooves are large enough to accommodate an iPad inside all but the thickest of cases, although the thicker the case, the more upright the iPad will sit.)
The design of the Loop allows you to use Apple’s USB dock-connector cable to charge and sync the iPad even when oriented vertically—and without having to flip the iPad upside-down, as is the case with some other stands. The Loop elevates the bottom of the iPad far enough off the desk or counter for the dock-connector cable to plug in, and a slight arch in the rear of the Loop lets the cable run under the back edge to reduce cable clutter. On the other hand, the Loop doesn’t offer enough clearance for some third-party dock-connector cables with thicker cables or larger plugs.
If you lay the iPad flat on the Loop, it becomes a nice aid for typing, in either the horizontal or vertical position.
Both the top of the Loop insides of the grooves are lined with a material that protects your iPad from being scratched.
Although the design is very simple, this Griffin ipad stand works really well, and if its limited positions are to your liking, you will have a versatile and well made stand for very little money.

The iRest Lap Stand

3 Feet Portable iPad Stand
Interesting to say the least!
3feet Stands
are amazing, they are made from an almost unbreakable plastic and fit both the iPad and the iPad 2 and without doubt the iPad 3 when it eventually arrives.
I love it, its like a mini shopping trolley just for your iPad, you just want to keep playing with it and adjusting it because you can! The biggest problem for me is what colour I needed to choose as there are ten basic colours and literally loads of colour combinations for your favourite NFL Team, college, country and even company colours…
Unlike many stands on the market, it comes ready assembled, thank goodness because it consists of 5 main parts which all go together and were probably made at the engineering department of Harry Potters School.
Now how easy is this, there is a tab on the back that says “Pull” so you pull it and hey presto it opens up into an A-frame. It can be used when your iPad is in a protective case and there is access for the charging cable.
Now my biggest concern about any iPad stand is that it is sturdy enough to hold my pride and joy, well yet again the 3feet iPad Stands
are up to the task.
It has silicone rubber bands protecting your furniture and stopping it slide everywhere and a little piece that flips out from the back when the main part is folded flat.
It is light, tidy, compact and the easiest stand for traveling with.
This is one cool iPad accessory and although it is incredibly well put together its so cheap, at only $12.95 it is an absolute bargain. These stands are only available on amazon so I have put a link here for you to have a look around.
