We all like to get out and about every now and some of us more than others and when we do we need to have total protection for our iPad 2 and that is where the Griffin iPad 2 case called very aptly the Survivor comes in to its own.
Griffin are well known for producing quality accessories for the whole range of Apple products and launched the Survivor range for the iPhone not long ago. With the success of this they have adapted it for the iPad 2 with none of the niggling issues that were seen with the iPhone version.
There are few other Griffin iPad cases on the market that are all worth a look but none of them are like the Griffin Survivor for iPad 2. Basically Griffin has set out to create the most rugged ipad 2 case on the market.
To this they have given it a shatter proof polycarbonate hard case that has been packed full of shock absorbing silicone with body armour designs that would look at home in a war zone. In fact Griffin had it tested by the US Department of Defence so it could gain their military standard 810F certificate.
This simply means this is one tough cookie and you can be rest assured that no matter what you throw at this Griffin iPad 2 case the iPad will not feel a thing.
Along with the hard case covering the Survivor for iPad 2 also has a built in screen protector and even hinged plugs that seal over the dock connector, camera lens, the headphones port, the volume controls and the hold switch. In a nutshell you have complete protection for the iPad no matter what the environment or conditions.
If you do need to view the iPad 2 hands free then there is a clip on stand that offers both a landscape and portrait viewing angle.
The Survivor is offered a dark brooding black or glamorous bright pink
Now with all this extra padding and protection, there is going to be some bulk and weight added to the iPad 2 but from what I can gather from other customer reviews this isn´t as bad as you may think. Another issue that I came across was, the inbuilt screen protector is not as sensitive as it could be around the edges of the iPad display however, elsewhere the touch screen sensitivity was fine.
Overall the reviews for this product are very positive and there doesn’t seem to be any major issues that come up time and again.
If you want ultra protection for your iPad 2 then you can´t go wrong with this Griffin iPad 2 case. The increase in protective material added to the case really does what it claims and that is to make it very tough to break down and therefore harm the iPad. At $79.99. it is not cheap but it is not the most expensive in the rugged iPad 2 case market, so if feel you need this level of security, then the Survivor is a good choice.

On the subject of security, Griffin have recently launched an iPad 2 case which has a secure lock and chain attached to it.
It is called the Griffin Techsafe and what you have is a standard yet well manufactured smart leather case with a lock and anchor point which enables you to attach the iPad to an object such as a desk preventing any chance of theft. The case itself offers excellent protection for the iPad against bumps and scratches and it comes with a built in stand to give a variety of viewing angles.
